Nail stamping with Konad plates and polishes is good for beginners as well as pros. I believe their nail polishes takes a bit longer to dry which can be good when using them for stamping.

They sell lots of stuff for nail art, such as the specific nail polishes for stamping, regular polishes, nail art pens and even Gel.

 

Tutorial for Ombré nails

To achieve gradient colors on nails, which are a perfect base for nail stamping, I am learning how to make ombré nails to perfection. You can also use this technique to get a nice french manicure.

1. Choose one or more colors to use. Regular nail polishes will work perfectly. (I prefer OPI).
2. Use one color as base, choose the one lightest in color.
3. Cover the whole nail with one layer of the base color and let dry.
4. Add color from all the chosen polishes, including base color, on to a makeup sponge.
5. Dot the sponge on to the nail and let dry.
6. Repeat if needed and cover with Top Coat. I usually do this right before the polishes has dried.

Colorful nail art using sponges

Make some colorful weekend nails which are fun as they are or can be a perfect base for nail stamping. This nail art is simple to do, but make sure the nail polishes have time to dry between coats.

• Make a base, I chose white. Make sure the color covers. Let dry.
• Cut a kitchen sponge in small pieces to make some colored dots.
• Just drip some polish from the colorful nailpolishes you wish to use onto the smoother side of the sponge.
• Damp the sponge lightly onto a couple of nails but put new nail polish onto the sponge after every second nail.
• Let dry.
• Put on top coat.

Mustache nail art for beginners

A cool but very simple nail art is to make a mustache, all you need are a dotting tool, a thin pointy tool and a fine art brush. For example you can use a pin and a tooth pick. Or you just use a nail art pen which can be found in places such as Walmart and Amazon.

There are plenty of stamping plate producers; Konad, Bundle Monster/Maniology, Depend and MoYou London.

• Paint your nails in a base color and let dry.
• Put the stamping color on to the plate.
• Use a scrape so wipe of the unnecessary amount of stamping color.
• Grab the stamper and push on to the plate pattern,with the pattern om the rubber end push gently on to the nail in a swiping move. Do not glide over the nail.
• Let dry.

 

Autumn nailart with nail stamping

With the European November weather, grey skies and rain, I found that making autumn nail art with nail stamping was a delight. Grey matches lots of my autumn outfits. For some green nails I used OPI Thanks a Windmillion and white base from Depend.

• Paint your nails in a base color. Maker sure the base polish dries completely.
• Add the other color for the pattern on to the plate.
• Swipe of the unecessary amount of polish with the scrape or a credit card in plastic.
• Grab the stamper and push on to the plate to get the pattern om the rubber end. The push gently on to the nail in a swiping move. Do not glide over the nail.
• Let dry and use top coat to protect.

Glitter nailart

Glitter nailart is quite easy to do, I chose to only decorate two fingers per hand and keep the rest with a regular french manicure.

• Add one coat of glitter nailpolish sush as OPI Pink yet Lavender on the pinky nail.
• Add one coat of light pink color on ring finger, let dry.
• Tape a straight line along the ring finger, you can use regular plastic tape if you want to. Put on a few coats of silver glitter nailpolish, let dry in between the coats.
• Let dry, and rip then off the tape from the ring finger.
• Add top coat.

Leopard nailart

Leopard nailart might not be super easy to do on your own, but worth a try if you have a dotting tool and fine art brush. I have made my own dotting tool using a pin onto a pens rubber. I used OPI Got a Date To-Knight, dots OPI Gargantua Green Grape and lines OPI Can’t find my czechbook.

• Add one ot two coats of your base color, let dry.
• Make irregular dots in a lighter color using a dotting tool or/hand a toothpick, let dry.
• Make lines around the dots with a darker color, use a fine art brush. Make the lines shaped as C and U. Let dry.
• Add top coat.

Half and half nailart

Half and half nailart can be made by beginners. I myself am a beginner so the nailart wont be to difficult. I used the follwoing nailpolishes for this half and half nailart; OPI Gargantuan Green Grape , Mavala Velvet and Mavala Riga.

• Paint whole nails in one color, let try.
• Paint half the nails in different color, use tape if you need help with keeping the line straight. Let dry.
• Make dots on one nail if you want mix match. Let dry.
• Add topcoat.
